Swift, shy and at the same time fearless, proud lord of its territory, this is how I describe a small bird that I had the opportunity to photograph so intimately. Bluethroat are small birds that spend their winters in Portugal, they are not rare, but getting into their intimacy takes time and long days of frustration. 

There were days when I did not see him, others when a shadow was just a sign of his presence, but there were others when his curiosity far exceeded his shyness.
